UI/UX Design for
Smart Door Concept
Scope: Academic project - Design of an 'Enchanted Object', Conceptual Design
Background
Most of us like to have the kitchen to ourself when cooking. During my university accommodation, I shared the kitchen with 6 flatmates. I would often walk into the kitchen and discover my flatmates hanging out when I wasn't particularly sociable, or the hobs and oven occupied when I didn't have much time to spare.
It was hard to juggle the anxiety and clashes alongside a busy, hectic university schedule and I had long entertained this curiosity of whether we could have a system in place to enjoy quality kitchen time to myself.
So, I took the opportunity to explore the concept of an app designed around a 'smart object' or 'enchanted object' as David Rose calls them.
Instead of what product should I invent, ask what psychological drive
should I satisfy?
